Walk Tall, Walk Strong
Using proper walking form will allow you to hit the streets
(or paths or treadmill) daily without strain or pain. Here’s how:
- Walk with your head up.
- Think about keeping your cheekbone directly above your collarbone.
This ensures that your shoulders do not fall forward.
- Allow your shoulders to relax down
- Lift your chest.
- Bend your elbows at a 90-degree angle.
- Keep your upper arms in close to your body.
- Don’t clench your fists.
- Roll smoothly from your heels to your toes with every step.
- Avoid long strides. Instead, think of taking quick steps.

Get Fit Hardin County is a six week series that includes physical activity, weight loss and/or maintenance and behavior change for a healthier you!
Physical Activity portion of the program —you will be counting your minutes of activity and or your steps. At the end of each week that you turn in your record form you will also receive an incentive item if you participated that week.
Each week you will receive a newsletter with recipes and tips to help motivate you!
At the end of six weeks we will have a celebration and give away prizes and also describe the Phase II portion of the program.
Cost is $8.00 per person or $25 for a team of five (5).

The second phase of the program will be called Hardin County Moves!
It will be on a monthly basis and will be explained in more detail in the next newsletter.
