Groups meet once a week to fill bags with non-perishable foods. The bags are delivered to participating schools, and on Fridays the bags are placed in the backpacks of participating children. The children take home food they can eat over the weekend. As the program expands to serve all public elementary, middle and high schools in Hardin County, the need for food supplies and helping hands also grows. |
Educational programs of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service serve all people regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin. |
